Why do people dance? Why do choreographers make dances? When can they become honest with themselves as to why they must create? Who is it for? And if only for oneself then what a waste of money, no? When will old fashioned ideas about how to run a ballet company die away? When will ballet dancers be given responsibility and allowed to be adults? When will ballet class actually be looked at as a dance class? How can a famous ballerina say to me that ballet class is just a place to perfect positions and you dance when you are onstage? ome? Yes dancers can be made but will they ever really be good dancers? Is rhythm really it? Are only people involved in dance interested in it? When dance critics see so much dance doesn´t that make them numb and less objective? If a piece has been done in 1960 does it mean it can´t be repeated by someone else now? Which is better a good critic or a well written critic?
