In the first piece of tonight’s double bill, “Uprising,” a gang of young men in skater looks emerge striding from the darkness of the back of the stage – and proceed to hang out together, bounce off each other, interact. They shake and shimmy in pop video style. Hunched over, with arms hanging down, they move across the stage like apes, or hop about like overgrown fleas. Ihn hatte sie nach dem Ungarn-Aufstand 1956 auf seinem steinigen Weg über Hannover, Lübeck bis hin nach Wiesbaden begleitet –...

Oh, it doesn’t matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on, every guy grab a girl
Everywhere around the world
There’ll be dancin’
They’re dancin’ in the street

This is an invitation
Across the nation
A chance for the folks to meet
There’ll be laughin’ and singin’ and music swingin’
And dancin’ in the street

Was haben Tanz und Öffentlichkeit miteinander zu...
