English Version: The Greeks

The great opportunity with dance lies in its extraordinary ability to change face and pace according to small differences that can be injected in its language. The spectator's eyes are infected by a kind of serum too fast to be detected by the organism. All the view is bound to be reassembled, all the preconceptions coming from a specific experience or habit are challenged and a brand new perception is built. This is what happens with such a brave and weird piece as The Greeks, a collaboration between Duda Paiva and Maas Theater Dans company from Rotterdam.

Early moved to the Netherlands from Brazil, Paiva trained as a dancer before becoming – after only 8 years – one of the most original and established puppeteers. Paiva's peculiarity is to merge one language into the other, whirling dance, mime, foam-rubber puppetry design and animation and ventriloquism into an exhilarating mix of humour and satire.
