O Vertigo
The official opening of O Vertigo’s new subterranean Creation Centre at the Montréal’s largest performing arts complex, Place des Arts, marks a new stage of development for the company, celebrating its twentieth anniversary. Federal and provincial governments invested over CDN$ 554,000 into the project, which involved major renovations to the former PdA set storage depot. A dance studio, outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, occupies half of the 576 m. squared, with the additional space given over to administrative offices.
At the launch, O Vertigo artistic director Ginette Laurin announced the company’s new base of operations would also serve the dance community at-large as a site for research and training.
