Ein Brief aus Groningen

Eva van Schaik über das Diaghilev-Festival

It couldn‘t have escaped anyone‘s notice in Holland. For weeks, billboards and TV and newspaper ads urged all unemployed, well-to-do ballet fans to take a five day trip to Groningen for the Diaghilev experience: three ballets by Fokine, two by Balanchine, Nijinsky and Massine and one each by Lifar and Nijinska to supplement an exhibition on Diaghilev‘s world of art. Die Wiederkehr des Schönen

Diderot meinte die Ruine, die in seiner Zeit zum Inbegriff der Vergänglichkeit, der Veränderung und Transformation, der gesellschaftlichen und kulturellen Revolution wurde. Beim Anblick antiker...

Bleak House

Ecclesiasticus, the bleakest book in the Old Testament, is the text Tim Rushton chose as the basis of the first of two dances opening the tiny dance stage at Copenhagen‘s new Opera (see the magazine section). “Kridt“ (i.e. “chalk“) opens in darkness, to the sound of chalk on a board; the sound of bleak school days, the cane and discipline. A body is being...
