Hugging 5000 in 15 hours

Donna Uchizono: «Approaching Green» in New York

Donna Uchizono is an intelligent choreographer who can create intoxicatingly beautiful dances, but whose conceptual underpinnings sometime overwhelm her deliberate, often introverted movement. “Approaching Green,” a premiere performed at New York’s Danspace Project, was packed with so many ideas and production elements that the dancing wound up playing a supporting role.

Dancing the grey clouds away

Jenni Kivelä is one of Finland's most original artists, with an open and sincere relationship to the world. The characters and world she creates in her work are similar to that in the films of Aki Kaurismäki, where the ambience is not hopeless, just slightly melancholic. One of the main causes of melancholy is insecurity in love: will it last or not? In Jenni...
