A cross cultural pas de deux India-inspired exoticism shows no signs of dying out even in the 21st century. Bollywood and Bombay Dreams, Akram Khan and “La Bayadère“ – this year‘s festival summer is filled with a yearning for distant climes

India was the most magnificent jewel in the crown of the British Empire for two centuries. The period of the Raj spawned a rich cultural exchange that initially seemed to flow strongest from West to East. The exchange continues today but with the flow emphatically in the opposite direction.

«Duplex» in Aix-en-Provence
