William Forsythe: «Yes We Can’t» in Frankfurt

Tournee-Kompanien, zu denen trotz fester Standorte auch die Forsythe Company gehört, überleben allein durch Selbstausbeutung. Jeder Einzelne steht ununterbrochen unter Hochdruck. Am Premierenabend von «Yes We Can’t» im Festspielhaus Hellerau brach der Tänzer Christopher Roman zusammen. Der Stress. Die Zuschauer haben davon nichts mitbekommen. Der neueste Forsythe-Coup ging in Notbesetzung über die Bühne, als sei nichts geschehen: Biste ein Pferd geworden, musste ziehen. Ein starkes Stück.

Und: Seit Forsythes Musical «Isabelle’s Dance» hat man bestimmt nicht mehr so gelacht, auch wenn man sich zwischendrin mächtig verschluckt. Denn Bill Forsythe blödelt selten, ohne den Abgrund aus den Augen zu verlieren. Er hatte ja schon immer ein Herz für Idioten, für kruden Witz und gleichermaßen einen hohen Grad an Absurdität. Diesmal gab Forsythe, so sagt er, in den Proben vor, man präpariere sich für ein Casting bei David Lynch. Beckett wohnt jetzt am Mulholland Drive. So was kann nur in eine Persiflage ausarten. Und die funktioniert als Widerspruch in sich, als Paradoxon, als Negation von Obamas Wahlkampfparole: Ja, wir können nicht. Aber sie können natürlich doch: Zum Beispiel Anzügliches ...
